Sabine Street Studios is the latest addition to the Sawyer Yards’ family of studio buildings. It features 67 creative workspaces available to artists, makers, and innovators.

Just three minutes from Houston’s downtown business district, Sawyer Yards is a creative community thriving in the heart of Houston’s historic First Ward and Arts District Houston, surrounded by an active rail yard where 20+ trains change the landscape each day.

Transformed into built - for - purpose studios, these industrial warehouses are now home to one of the largest working artist communities in the country. I am thrilled to be a part of this exceptional art community complemented by creative businesses, public galleries, unique dining and entertainment venues— all brought to life through an active schedule of special events.

On the second Saturday of each month, the artists of The Sawyer Yard's Studio Buildings - the Silos, Silver Street, Winter Street, Sabine Street, and Summer Street Studios open their studios to the public from 12-5pm. Spring Street Studios open from 12-7pm. Spend the afternoon wandering through six repurposed warehouses and discover an extensive selection of painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, clothing, textiles, printmaking, mixed media and more. Meet the artists, learn about their work and add a new piece (or two!) to your collection. Second Saturday is a free event and open to the public, so bring your friends!
